Modern Conscience x Another Furniture Store
Some collaborations just make sense.
Founded on a deep appreciation for modern design and a commitment to making exceptional vintage furniture more accessible, Modern Conscience was a natural choice for this restoration. With roots in the iconic work of Charles and Ray Eames, their understanding of the materials, craftsmanship, and history behind these enduring designs made them the perfect partner to bring this piece back to life.
Together, we share a belief that great design deserves to be preserved, cared for, and lived with for generations to come.
Meet Amanda Hallberg founder, restorer and co-owner Modern Conscience behind our latest furniture project.
At the heart of that work is Amanda Hallberg and Brian Hanger. Their background in Architecture brings a particular sensitivity to proportion, structure, materials, and the way individual details come together to create something whole. That perpective, paired with a genuine love of furniture and design, makes their approach to restoration incredibly meticulous.
Over the years, Modern Conscience has restored thousands of Eames Lounge Chairs, becoming a trusted destination for those who understand that restoration is about more than simply making something look new again.
Their approach is rooted in preservation. Keeping the character, patina, and small traces of a chair’s life, while carefully bringing it back to a place of beauty and function.
Modern Conscience was founded in 2004 with a simple idea: that vintage modern furniture and exceptionally crafted design should be more accessible.
Born from an obsession with modern chair design, the collection began with the seminal work of Charles and Ray Eames and their iconic fiberglass shells and bases. From there, a deeper appreciation for the materials, forms, details, and history of modern furniture began to take shape.
